      Add your website(s)

Before you can build any links, you need to add your website to Forward Link.  It is straight-forward and easy to do and tells everyone about your site and what links you are looking for.

Here are the steps to add your site:

      1. Login to your profile here: https://app.forward-link.com/

You are now ready to start building links!

      Find an ideal Link Partner

Now you've added your site, you'll need to find a suitable link partner to build links with. Don't just choose any site, consider the importance of building links within the same category as yourself.

For example, a plumber will benefit most from links from other websites that are related to plumbing or home renovations, home improvements etc.

Ideally, you don't want to keep doing straight link exchanges, consider setting up ABC link exchanges, for a more natural looking backlink profile, which will be more beneficial in the long-run.

Also, don't just choose sites with the highest Domain Authority DA, again you want a natual spread of different authorities.

Head back to the Build Links page and search to find suitable link partners in your Category:

You can also refine by location, link type (where links are placed), Domain Authority and Traffic

      Build a link!

When you have found an ideal link partner to build a link with, click the Build Link button under their website details here:
      click-build-link.png

This will then make a request to the owner of that website and they will decide whether to accept or reject that request.

Specify your website, page and anchor

This is where you tell the other website owner which page on your website you want an inbound link to and what the anchor text should be.

You start by choosing the website you want them to link to and then enter the page and anchor text:

      Your request is then sent

Once you click Send Message your request is then sent!  Because you initiated this link building collaboration, the other website owner can either accept or deny your request.

      Receiving link requests

Other site owners want to build links with you!  They will make a link request and then you need to decide whether to build a link with that owner or not.

When you receive link requests, you will see a green notification next to the Link Requests page:

Click through to the Link Requests page and you'll see all your requests:

      link-requests.png

      Accepting and rejecting link requests

For each link request, decide if you want to build a link with that partner or not.  This is known as accepting or rejecting a link request.  To do this, click Respond:

You need to now decide if you want to build a link with this website or not.  It's entirely up to you, you should only accept the request if you want an inbound link from that site and if you are willing to build a link to that site from your site too.

However, you can get a link to another site if you wish and if you have added multiple sites on Forward Link. When you respond to the link request, you can choose any of your sites, and the link partner will link to that site.

Choose either Yes or No here:

      Finalising your new link

If you click Yes to the link request, you now go through the link building process with your link partner:

      1. Add their Link: Add their link to your site, matching the destination URL and anchor text they have specified in their request below:
        add-their-link.png
      2. Once live, tick "I have now added this link" and click Next:

      3. You then get a chance to check your link partner has added your link on your site and they get a chance to check that you have done the same.  Once you have click Check Link and checked, you can click Complete and you're done!

Important: Completing link exchanges like this earns you points and means your site will be promoted more on Forward Link, so you can build even more inbound links!
